Track 1 - Platform on-boarding support
Purpose: Supports flexibility service providers in becoming visible and discoverable to market participants on open-access flexibility platforms.
Funding basis: Individual applicants may apply for Track 1 funding up to $10,000. Please provide a detailed breakdown of costs and how funding will help you to achieve your connectivity and visibility goals. Funding will be allocated based on the merits of your application.
Track 2 - Develop availability of flexibility resources
Purpose: Support flexibility service providers present on an open-access flexibility platform to scale or enhance the capacity or reliability of their flexibility resources.
Funding basis: Competitive process - funding will be awarded pro rata for lowest cost per kW of flexibility resource made available. You will need to provide a cost per kW figure and how you calculated it. Funding for Track 2 is capped at $100,000 per applicant. Funding will be rewarded on a cost competitive basis and allocated based on the merits of your application.
Track 3 – Digitalisation support
Purpose: This track offers software development support to New Zealand based-businesses enaged in flexibility services that are helping to grow Aotearoa’s flexibility market, connect DER assets with buyers, and support digital energy systems that enable flexibility trading.
Funding basis: Funding for Track 3 is capped at $50,000 per applicant. Funding will be rewarded on a cost competitive basis and allocated based on the merits of your application.
