Ara Ake co-lead’s a national group of experts that supports energy innovators to scale their clean technologies.

The New Zealand Cleantech Mission is a national consortium of commercialisation specialists, economic development agencies, funders and ecosystem enablers. The group supports researchers and entrepreneurs to scale their clean technologies by connecting them with opportunities, networks and resources in New Zealand and overseas.
Originally led by Callaghan Innovation, the group is now co-led by The MacDiarmid Institute and Ara Ake, in partnership with Auckland Unlimited, New Zealand Growth Capital Partners (NZGCP), ChristchurchNZ, Auckland UniServices and KiwiNet.

The New Zealand Cleantech Impact Report 2026 offers the first quantified look at the decarbonisation opportunity emerging from New Zealand's homegrown cleantech sector. The report spotlights early-stage innovators scaling quickly across energy, sustainability and hard-to-abate areas and makes recommendations for faster access to capital and stronger policy support to keep that momentum going.
